The humble dash-cam hasn’t really taken hold in Britain or the rest of Europe, but in Russia, everyone seems to have one. It’s a good job too, because some pretty downright-insane stuff happens on Russian roads (and skies), like this lorry driver getting catapulted out of his cab mid-crash. Vice has put together a whole madness-capturing collection of the things for your perusal. Watch, and be amazed and horrified in equal measures. [Vice]

A Sports Cam With Eyes On the Back of Its Head Captures Twice the Action
The Secret Twitter Music Feature That Adds a Dash of Awesome
Russia's Designing a Deadlier AK-47
The reason they have them in Russia is because if you don’t have video evidence, somebody corrupt somewhere will screw you out of your claim.
Dont forget the gun they are carrying to solve issues as well
I think soon, we will see American dashcam videos like those in Russia, with guns
I think you’re probably right.
where would we be without Russian dash cams, the world would be a very boring place
LOL at that guy falling out of the truck. What are his seatbelts made of?, Sellotape?!
Probably air lol
Was that his jumper that came off?
All the taxi drivers have them…
Mind you the way they drive out there, they need them. Everyone just cuts each other up, but they don’t beep or anything.
During gridlocked rush hour, tailgating a government car (blue lights) or an emergency vehicle is the quickest way to get through.
I was once stopped at a red light and my car was pushed out of the way by a government vehicle that wanted to get through. Try explaining the bumper damage to a UK fleet manager; in Russia “nyet prablyem”!
That should be “government vehicle”. In double quotes. Because they’re usually not.
In Russia, I’m sure traffic law states that if you get hit by any car, you have to wait for a traffic cop to assess the damage to both cars. This is why you see both cars stop.
I must confess, I too have one, and it makes for some very interesting footage! Unfortunately nothing of this magnitude yet!
This is a brilliant channel for Russian car crashes.
