This might be a little bit too late, but Vodafone's warning iPhone users to steer clear of the latest iOS 6.1 update as it apparently causes issues with 3G data, texts and calls -- basically everything, then. Apparently Apple's working on a fix, but who knows how long that'll take.
Vodafone says the problems are intermittent, which means they're a pain in the neck to diagnose. However, it means that if you're having issues at all connecting to the network, you might be caught up in this mess.
Currently it's only affecting iPhone 4S users, so iPhone 5 users should be fine, according to Vodafone at least:
"We’re aware of an issue caused by Apple iPhone 4s handsets that have been upgraded to iOS 6.1 which impacts performance on 3G.
Some customers may occasionally experience difficulty in connecting to the network to make or receive calls or texts or to connect to the Internet. Apple is working on a solution to their software issue. These connection problems are intermittent."
Apparently Vodafone sent out text messages to all those with an iPhone 4S on its network, presuming you bought it from the network, so if you're affected you should know by now. If you're an unlocked iPhone 4S owner on Vodafone, you might want to steer clear of the iOS 6.1 update for a bit. It's not like it really added anything useful for us Brits, anyway.
