Someone’s been spending a lot of work time up the top of London’s BT Tower with a camera, assembling an astounding 320 gigapixel panoramic image of the capital from 48,000 individual frames and building the world’s largest panorama shot.
The result is something resembling the most detailed Street View image imaginable, detailed enough to let you have a voyeuristic spy through windows on buildings, or just generally enjoy the city’s skyline from afar. The panorama maker hasn’t blocked people’s faces or car number plates, so some stuff’s easily recognisable. Shame they didn’t do it on a sunnier day. [BT]

Sunny days are bad for panoramas due to the extreme light and shadow. overcast days provide the best, flat lighting.
