It may pain you to add girth to the iPhone 5′s slender frame, but when a little more junk in your iPhone’s trunk means double the battery life, it’s hard to say no. The new Mophie Juice Pack Helium case promises to do just that and be about 13% lighter than the iPhone 4′s Air version.
Mophie claims the device, which is equipped with 1500 mAh of battery power, can offer up to 6 more hours of 3G talk time, six more hours of cellular browsing, seven more hours of Wi-Fi browsing, 30 hours of audio playback, or seven more hours of video playback.
The cases will retail for $80 (approx £50) and are supposed to ship in time for Valentine’s Day (In the US), according to Mophie. Because nothing says “I love you and now you can never lie to me about your phone being dead again” like a battery-extending, emotionally smothering iPhone case. [TechCrunch]

Mophie Juice Pack Helium for iPhone 5 Review: Wherein Juicing Is A Good Thing
Have anyone here tried any of these products ?? I am inclined to buy one, if it’s really worth it.
My colleague has one and loves it. Although she has smashed the hell out of it, it’s a real mess. I believe Morphie are going to replace it for her, although I wouldn’t be surprised if they change their mind once they see it.
Yep, I have an iPhone 4S with a Mophie, and use the phone to death.
When it gets to 20% I flick the Mophie on, and it charges it up to nearly full, but as we’re now running on two batteries, it lasts longer than it normally would. It has never failed to get me through a long hard day (Including Navigation Apps!!)
Whats more, you can charge the Mophie, and take your flat phone out for the day/evening!!
Never looked back, it’s the best thing I bought other than the iPhone…
@Growmac @elevenses Doesn’t it make the phone so bulky though ?
Yes it does, but not unreasonably so. I have a cheap version for mine. I only use it when I am out of the office all day and making heavy use of the phone. I wouldn’t use it all the time, but then I don’t need it all the time.
I only use the Mophie at work when the battery is liable to be hammered, but either way the Mophie doesn’t make the phone much heavier or bulkier, certainly no more than any other cover!
It’s handy when you need 24/7 phone too, as the phone and cover can be charged seperately too…
I’m tempted, but really don’t want to make my iPhone more bulky. Think I might just buy one of those portable battery chargers.
But you still have to carry that!
The Mophie isn’t a problem tbh…
Okay, so my cheap pack was playing up and they exchanged it. I have to say the service was great, and the new one is a massive, enormous step up quality wise. Really, really nice. And £23. You can forgive a lot for that sort of saving.
