Sabu, probably the most notorious public face of hacking from this young, stupid century, still isn’t headed to prison. He hasn’t even been sentenced yet—because he’s still helping the FBI bust his friends.
Hector “Sabu” Monsegur, the project-dwelling mastermind of LulzSec, was supposed to receive his fate last week—but according to court documents, won’t face sentencing until August “in light of the defendant’s ongoing cooperation with the Government.” This is the second time his sentencing has been delayed. Maybe it won’t be the last. But we can assume that the feds aren’t giving him up because he’s still helping them take down his old pals. [Reuters' Matthew Keys]

whilst I don’t agree, with what he has done
you cant fight the human nature of self preservation, and honestly hand on heart, would any of us do any different, if it meant saving ourselves?
answering yes or no here, just serves to feed your own ego, only once you are put in that position would you know whether your principles are stronger than your self preservation.
my feeling on anonymous is that they are both good and bad, and I bet there are many individuals feeding their own agenda or ego, i bet equally that there are many there fighting for the good of others.
and unless any of us have been put in this position before, then i guess we will never know for sure how we would react.
The question you pose is not good enough. He is not just saving himself, he is incriminating others.
Would you want to be responsible for sending your friends to prison to save yourself a few years? He is a grown man, he at the very least, manipulated others, some teenagers to break the law. He was the spoke’s person and the man who taunted the FBI, other hackers and his showboating is a part of what got him caught.
no I wouldn’t want to be responsible.
and you make a good point
Wow, Sam Biddle, “snitching”, that’s a major jump from what the document actually said. Why could he not simply be helping the authorities in an honourable way, like showing them how he did his hacking? There are many hacking risks in the world now, so a specialist like this could be very useful in locking down government security risks.
