A recent Samsung event designed to highlight a new colour variant of its larger 10.1″ tablet had an interesting image lurking in the background, what appears to be a cardboard cut-out of a smaller, possibly 8″ Galaxy Note update.
The image above shows something Note-like above the cheerful promotional scene, running in landscape orientation, seemingly bigger than a Note II but nothing like as big as the 10.1″ model. It may be a Photoshopped Note II with the Samsung logo removed and a tablet layout stuck on the screen, but then again it might be a new thing. Samsung likes making new things.
We’ve previously seen specs for an 8″ version of the Galaxy Note appear online, alongside an expectation that it’ll be revealed at Mobile World Congress at the end of this month. Maybe, now Samsung’s paid to have some massive cardboard banners made up, it’s ready to announce the thing to the world? [Sammy Hub via Techradar]

Thanks for your Samsung phablet article. I wish Samsung would add a bluetooth detachable ear piece phone on their phablets. One that is ready to use upon detachment and is placed within the contour shape of the phablet body.
