Slingshot lover and—let’s face it—borderline maniac (in the best way) Joerg Sprave definitely took things to one extreme when he created an enormous slingshot cannon that fired ridiculous chainsaw halberds. Not to be outdone, even by himself, he’s back at it with another ludicrous invention that goes with speed over size: a fully automatic slingshot mini gun. Really, what could top this?
Using a wooden cylinder covered in almost a dozen individual slingshot barrels, Sprave’s full auto minigun relies on a drill to spin its business peice. Aside from that though, it’s all good old-fashion rubber band action launching a slew of arrows at a target with blistering speed, and half-decent accuracy to boot. Surely there’s no way Joerg has run out of ideas yet, but this seems like a seriously hard act to follow. But pulling that off seems to be what he does best. I can’t even image what’s next. Sooo.. what he needs to do next, is include a mechanism that re-tensions the rubber as part of the motor driven mechanism – and a magazine to introduce bolts. Maybe have four rubber bands and as the cylinder rotates, the rubber is pulled tight again before returning to the firing position, where a bolt is fed in.
That would then be really automatic….
I love how he just crams all the relevant words (in no particular order) into the name of the thing – “Full auto mini gatling slingshot gun”. I’d like to think that in German that’s now a new word, something like Vollautokleingatlingschleudergewehr. They love their multipartreallylongportmanteaus.
Also, when he says it, he looks like an adorably proud teddy bear. Who’s just constructed a scary, deadly weapon.
Let’s be honest though, he looks like so much fun to hang out with!
