Apple just cut the price of the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display. You can now pick one up for £1,249 — £200 less than the original starting price of £1,449.
That means that the basic 13-inch Retina Pro — with 128GB of storage — is now slightly more wallet friendly. For £1,449, the same price as the old entry-level model, you can now get a spec bump providing 256GB of storage and a new, faster 2.6GHz processor.
That’s not all! Its bigger brother, the 15-inch Retina Pro, is also getting a shot in the arm: the base, £1,799 model will now feature a 2.4GHz chip, while the top-end £2,299 behemoth will pack a 2.7GHz processor and 16GB of RAM standard.
Finally, the 13-inch MacBook Air with 256GB of storage now starts at £1,199.

Apple Planning to Launch 13-Inch Retina MacBook Pro This Month?
Is This the New 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display?
This Is the 13-Inch Retina MacBook Pro You Should Get
That top-end 15″ Retina Pro is starting to look mighty tempting…but I really don’t care for OS X (if anyone mentions Bootcamp, Parallels or VMware…they get a slap)
The Asus Zenbook nearly had me…but it hasn’t given me that trouser-twinge of emotion I need to part with thousands of pounds.
But wait, have you tried VWware, Parallels or Bootcamp?
*slap* *slap* *slap*
What’s wrong with bootcamp? You can change the partition so that practically your entire system is a ‘windows’ pc.
Wow only £1250 for a 13″ screen laptop!!
I will look awesome with this in my local coffee shop.
Only mugs pay full price, student or refurb is around £1000.
Do you have a comparable laptop in mind?
Awesome! Might be in the market for a macbook pro in the next couple of months
)
It’s not cheaper than it was, just less expensive. Reassuringly so…
Said the poor man
I could afford a mac if I wanted one but I’d rather have a real computer.
Lies
I’d love either the MacBook Retina or MacBook Air, if that’s a 256GB SSD in there. It’s just a shame they cost so damn much.
