Google Glasses might be a neat version of the future, but they’re also still a tad awkward and geeky. You know, kind of like a Segway?
From what we can see from the new video of the UI Google just released, they could be really cool. But ultimately, it’s hard to envision a future where Google Glasses are practical. Hey, we were awed by Segways once upon a time, too. And then they became the vehicle of choice of Paul Blart, Mall Cops everywhere. [@PaleoFuture]

The difference is a Segway is an invention thats worse than any other for of private transport whereas google glasses have the potential to be useful.
I disagree and I for one hope Glass becomes mainstream (although a contact lens version would be better!)

Besides, Segway had nowhere near the skilled hype of the Glass. It was touted for a bit as “the greatest invention ever”, which it obviously wasn’t, and all good PR went downhill from there.
