Sure enough, the safety regulations that aim to protect your fingers from getting chewed up by naked fans have forced Apple to stop selling the mighty Mac Pro in the UK and Europe.
Until Apple updates the Mac Pro with a new safer design, it’s banned in the UK and the rest of the EU for being dangerous and contravening Amendment 1 of Regulation IEC 60950-1. Technically you can still buy it in-store up until March 1st, and resellers will be able to sell through their existing stock, but then that’s it.
A new Mac Pro refresh must be imminent, surely? Either that or Apple’s just going to let the Mac Pro line die, and that would be pretty sad for all those videographers out there. [Apple]

I’m absolutely not going to sell all my other tech and buy one of the new, finger friendly Mac Pros, cut away all the fan protection, and then use Vine to tweet little six second clips of me deliberately wiggling my fingers extremely close to the spinning blades. Tweet them to all the UK stupid government and all the European stupid Union, and any random health and safety people I can find. No, I’m not going to do that cause it would make me a dick on all sorts of levels, but, there’s a little part of me so wants to.
