The Mac Pro Is Dead In the UK, For Now

By Sam Gibbs on at

Sure enough, the safety regulations that aim to protect your fingers from getting chewed up by naked fans have forced Apple to stop selling the mighty Mac Pro in the UK and Europe.

Until Apple updates the Mac Pro with a new safer design, it's banned in the UK and the rest of the EU for being dangerous and contravening Amendment 1 of Regulation IEC 60950-1. Technically you can still buy it in-store up until March 1st, and resellers will be able to sell through their existing stock, but then that's it.

A new Mac Pro refresh must be imminent, surely? Either that or Apple's just going to let the Mac Pro line die, and that would be pretty sad for all those videographers out there. [Apple]
