Apple has added a new section of the iBookstore called Breakout Books that highlights up and coming self-published books from “emerging talents.”
Titles are grouped into genres, like sci-fi, mysteries & thrillers, and romance, just like your local bookstore (you still have a local book store, right?). Here’s a synopsis of one such title, Bridesmaid Lotto by Rachel Astor:
Self-publishing can be a great opportunity for unknown, legitimately gifted writers. For example, Wool was self-published. And it’s no high-brow piece of literature, but 50 Shades of Grey was also a DIY project. Breakout Books is a lot of mummy porn and bargain basement fantasy, but perhaps there are some diamonds in the rough. And also lots of mummy porn. [PaidContent via TheVerge]

50 shades wasn’t just DIY, it was bloody Twiglet fan-fiction…
Good God. I know it’s snobbery but this mummy porn craze absolutely sickens me.
I’m just going to go ahead and assume this isn’t an offshoot of vampire porn but something more incestuous, and agree with you.
Although the alternative explanation seems a little odd to me as well.
