That rumoured M7 phone? The new HTC flagship? It definitely exists, and “M7″ is definitely its name. That is, if HTC’s super-enthusiastic, chant-leading CEO has anything to say about it.
The little cheering session went down at the end of HTC’s year-end party in Taipei a couple days ago. HTC CEO Peter Chou went up on stage to thank the M7 team for working so hard to finalise the product and then, with what appears to be one of the devices in his hand, led employees in chants of both “M7″ and “HTC One.” You can’t say it’s not at least slightly invigorating.
Such unbridled displays of enthusiasm aren’t uncommon in many Japanese companies, and it stands to reason that it’s not too out of character for the Taiwanese HTC either. Still, it’s a bit bewildering to watch. Maybe the handset really is that exciting. We’ll probably find out at Mobile World Congress later this month. [cnYES via Engadget]

The HTC M7 Will Probably Arrive In London On February 19th
after receiving my N4 the other day
my farewell post to HTC went a little something like this
This is a thank you for HTC, thank you for ignoring your customers, and thank you for not bothering to keep customers updated.
but my nexus 4 is on the way, and I shall bid thee farewell, had you been open with your customers, you would not have lost another customer. once again you will ignore this, but that’s fine, I don’t expect any better.
your phones are fine and I really do prefer them to Samsung phones, but your customer satisfaction is far from fine.
if only you were open about whether customers of flagship models still in their 2yr contract would get updates, which is what I expect if I buy a flagship phone. then maybe our parting would be on sweeter terms, but alas I would like to say its me to ease your conscience but no it really is you, it really is, your half truths, your secrets, your constant let-downs, I just cannot cope with it much longer.
I have been loyal to you and this is how you treat me.
maybe we could remain friends but you need to change your ways.
I shall bid you good day
I said good day!
just root it.
New hTC handsets are almost impossible to root.
Took about 5 minutes to root my One X. Took me an hour to fruitlessly root my Galaxy S. Go figure.
I failed twice rooting Desire S
I wanted to do that as well mate, been with hTC for over 2 years and utterly disappointed!
N4 is my first venture away from HTC. Always liked the build quality etc, especially when compared to Samsung, but the lack of updates became frustrating. The One X was my last phone, and suffering with dust under the screen and some questionable quality I jumped to the N4.
I always really liked the One X, but I love the N4!
what makes this funnier is i have just had a call from HTC as two months ago i asked them if they were going to update the sensation and had an email back saying that they have passed it onto the relevant dept and lo and behold no answer again.
anyway last week they sent an email asking for feedback on my recent contact with them, and i slated them on it, hence the call today, and i told them what i though of their customer interaction and the lack of it, and they still couldnt tell me if i was getting an update, and this is sort of moot in a way as i have an N4 now, and my daughter has my sensation, she is not bothered about the new features along as she can get on facebook and play her music and her words were god my iphone (3GS) was rubbish compared to this lol
so happy daughter and father now
