In a blog post describing some of the thinking behind the BlinkFeed combo widget that comes as part of its updated HTC Sense skin, HTC made some weird claims about Android users and their supposed lack of interest in actually using the features offered by their smartphones.
For instance, HTC says its research shows that after an initial month of frantic fiddling, some 80 per cent of Android users never make any other changes to their Home screen layouts. Once you've got it how you like it, you leave it that way, according to whoever HTC asked. The company also said users aren't that bothered about widgets, pointing out that:
"Widgets aren’t widely used – weather, clock and music are the most used and after that, fewer than 10% of customers use any other widgets."
