Pebble Watch SDK Due in April, Mario Magic Empowered

That image there is the sort of bonkers output you can expect to see on the displays of Pebble smartwatches very shortly, thanks to the massive Kickstarter winner set to launch an early version of its software development kit to the public next month.

Pebble's makers have said the limited SDK should hit in the second week of April, with a teaser video on its Kickstarter update page giving us a look at the sort of thing we can expect to see, including animated images, copyright-infringing uses of Nintendo's intellectual property, all new watch faces and more.

The nice man from the crow-funded company also gave a brief shipping update, claiming to have built some 40,000 units of the slim e-ink watch so far. [Techradar]
