Back in January it was rumoured that Sky would be opening up pay-as-you-go access to its sports channels without the need for the usual monthly subscription and package. And it is. It's been announced and launched for use today.
Coming as part of the broadcaster's online Sky NOW access bundle, users can opt to pay a one-off £9.99 fee to access all six of Sky's sport channels through its web site and mobile apps for 24 hours. That'd be £300 a month to watch every day in this manner, so it really is best saved for extreme emergency sporting content access only.
If you're off work sick for the day, or need to see one of the non-BBC F1 races, or aren't allowed to put a dish up because of local council politics, it might be a good option for those who can't stomach the full satellite package . [Sky]
