No, that's not a typo, Ferrari's new V12, sub-three-second hypercar is called LaFerrari. It's a hybrid, made entirely out of carbon fibre, and packs 949bhp to annihilate people at the lights. Boy does it sound good, it's just a shame you'll never be able to refer to it by its name without laughing, or crying, into your beer.
Ferrari's only making 499 of the mistakes cars, and apparently 700 of the things have already been sold, so no, just like the bat-shit-crazy Lambo, you're not going to be able to buy one of these even if you are royally minted.
The back looks awesome, but the front, to me at least, looks a little too American for my tastes. I could see that frontend on a Dodge Viper or something, not an Italian thoroughbred.
Anyway, if you're lucky enough to already be on the waiting list for one of these (ring me, OK?) then you'll be able to look forward to a 6.3L V12 spitting out 789bhp combined with a 160hp electric motor producing a total of 949 horses firing you to 205mph. For the rest of us, here's a video and some imagery to ogle. Now, excuse me while I go back to lusting over the Veneno. [Autoblog]
