Are You Offended By This Banned Ad?

By Sam Gibbs on at

The ASA has swung the ban hammer at this advert from drinks brand "Pussy". Apparently it's sexually explicit, which is ironic given what the ad is actually saying. But is it really offensive?

63 complaints were made to the ASA, calling it 'derogatory, sexist and degrading towards women'. The ASA decided that it explicitly called out the 'dual meaning' of pussy. What? The ASA doesn't like wimps then? Fair enough we have to protect our children, but isn't this going a bit far?

I can't say I find this offensive. Yes, it's funny, but is it sexually explicit? No way; it's only as filthy as your mind makes it. What's your take? [The Drum]
