Create Your Own HAL 9000 For Under £70

By Sam Gibbs on at

Have you always wanted a computer overlord to watch your every move? To trap you outside the airlock, or attempt to kill you in your sleep? Well, now you can build your own. It even looks the part too.

All in, this should cost you way under £100, and probably less than £70 if you're careful with your sourcing of bits. Adafruit's got a whole rundown of how to put this thing together. If you're handy with an Arduino, this should be a cinch. Hell, you can probably do it with a Raspberry Pi instead if you've got one lying around somewhere. [Adafruit via TechCrunch]
