Disney's Going to Spit Out a New Star Wars Movie Every Year From 2015

Having just bought themselves a brand new cash cow, it seems Disney's going to milk it for all its worth. It's announced it's going to pump out a new Star Wars film every year starting in 2015. Talk about churn.

The plan is to alternate between a continuation of the saga we know and love spaced out by a series of standalone movies. We don't know precisely who's going to get their own movies, but something tells me the likes of Yoda, Han Solo, and Boba Fett are likely candidates.

The only thing that worries me is that by going down this route of rapid churn, Disney's going to ruin the Star Wars I remember from my childhood. I know Lucas had a good stab at doing that himself, what with episodes one through three being, well, a bit shit, but I have a feeling Disney's going to make it even worse.

Anyway, the whole churn will kick off with Episode VII in 2015, let's just hope with all the band back together, it's as good as the originals. [Collider via TotalFilm]
