Iron Man 3 is out in the UK on general release tomorrow, ahead of the US by some time too I might add, and while most of us haven't had a chance to see it yet, an important question has cropped up: Is it worth seeing Stark's latest epic, or any new movie for that matter, in 3D these days? Has 3D in the cinema died like it has at home?
I can't say I was completely convinced about 3D even when it first hit the cinema. Yes, Avatar sure was a spectacle to behold; not a great movie I hasten to add, but as an explosion of colour, spectacular visuals, and blue smurfs it was amazing. 3D was then diluted with utter dreck, from poorly shot stuff to crappy 2D-to-3D conversions -- it was a mess. In fact, Jurassic Park is the only 2D-to-3D conversion that we've deemed worthy of actually watching in 3D.
So, my question is to those of you who have been lucky enough to have seen Iron Man 3 ahead of general release, one of my most anticipated movies of this year, is it worth seeing in 3D (or 4D)? And if it wasn't obvious, NO spoilers, OK?
