Google Babel Pictured in Alleged Leaked Images

Supposed images of a reworked Gmail interface give us a look at part of Google's new messaging system at the desktop end of the chain -- and confirm the Babel name -- if you are the trusting sort and believe their authenticity.

The images, which Techradar says come from a Google employee running the code in a test environment, show an updated Babel-powered chat session within Gmail, complete with new threaded messages, loads of lovely emoticons for ensuring your unending deadpan sarcasm isn't taken the wrong way, plus photo-sharing support that's powered by Google+.

Although, with the option to transfer these new and exciting chat sessions from Gmail's Babel interface to a Google+ hangout, it's still not exactly what you'd call a unified experience. [Techradar]
