If you are a big, rich man, with big, rich fingers, here's your next new status symbol -- Samsung's Galaxy Mega 6.3. The company has just officially confirmed its existence, with the enormous 6.3" phone set to launch here this May.

The Galaxy Mega 6.3 offers, according to Samsung, a mix of phone and smartphone features, including full landscape operation, and is running Samsung's heavily customised Android 4.2 software on a 1.7GHz dual-core chipset. You also get twin cameras (8-Megapixel and 1.9-Megapixel), plus there's a whopping great 3,200mAh capacity battery inside its shell.

The pricing data comes via an unofficial EU retailer, which has given the Galaxy Mega 6.3 a huge €699 price tag, or very nearly £600 in our traditional isolated island nation equivalent money.

There will also be a smaller-but-still-huge Galaxy Mega 5.8, offering a 1.4GHz dual-core chipset and largely the same features, just as has been rumoured. [SamMobile]
