Rumours suggest HTC is about to join Samsung, ZTE, Huawei and other mobile makers in launching what we must sadly refer to as a "phablet," with a device allegedly known under the development name T6 set to offer us a phone with six inches of screen size.
Although six inches is a slight exaggeration, as is often the case. The HTC T6 is supposedly a 5.9" device, powered by a top-of-the-line Qualcomm MSM8974 Snapdragon 800 chipset, one that maxes out at an immense 2.3GHz and is backed by 2GB of RAM.
The leaked specs come from mobile site The Unlockr, with the data provided by notorious, and usually correct, Twitter phone leaker EVleaks. The HTC T6 is also alleged to contain a similar UltraPixel camera to the HTC One with optical image stabilisation, coupled with a front-facing 2.1MP chat cam, SD card expansion and -- pause for intake of breath -- a stylus, like the ahead-of-its-time HTC Flyer pictured above.
Other odd suggestions claim the HTC T6 might come with a biometric fingerprint reader and a "power jacket" that's part case and part additional power pack. Whatever it may actually contain, the prospect of a 6-inch HTC One with a few extra bells and whistles and a power bump is seriously exciting.
Meanwhile, over on the Windows side of things, it's claimed that HTC has abandoned its previously rumoured 12-inch Windows RT tablet development in favour of just releasing a 7-inch version. Which is not so exciting but might still interest a few awkward tech fans. [The Unlockr via Techradar]
