This marvellous red thing is allegedly the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active, the previously rumoured extreme/outdoors/waterproof variant of Samsung's current Android flagship. And it is lovely.
The phone's quite a leap for Samsung's designers, seeing as it doesn't look like a simple size variation of its usually glossy plastic slabs. The S4 Active features three old school physical buttons beneath its display, presumably to make it fully functional while wet, plus, around the back, visible screws give it that a design edge we don't usually see from Samsung's bland phones.
Internally it's pretty extreme as well, with the S4 Active supposedly running on a quad-core Snapdragon 600 chipset clocked at 1.9GHz. We'd have one, even though the most dangerous thing we'd do with it is occasionally balance it on the toilet cistern. [GSM Arena via Techradar]
Update: Here's a video of the thing from MobileTechReview.
