Strapping a Smartphone to Binoculars is a Stalker's Wet Dream

By Chris Mills on at

Snapzoom is an interesting Kickstarter project that marries a stalker's two favourite inventions: the smartphone, and binoculars. The result? High-res imagery without having to breach your restraining order.

Very simply, Snapzoom is an adapter that mounts binoculars to smartphones. It's clever, because it allows you to take videos of things far away, using one thing you've got lying around -- your smartphone -- and one thing you'll probably have if you're into watching birds (of either variety), a pair of binoculars. It'll retail for about £50, provided it manages to eventually make its way off Kickstarter and into your homes.

And don't worry, the surfer-bum founders assure us that it's 'completely waterproof', which is reassuring -- don't worry if you drop your smartphone into the ocean, at least the £50 piece of plastic is safe. That's the important thing. [Snapzoom via TechCrunch]
