The BBC has pushed out a standalone weather app for both Android and iOS today, bringing those classic, trustworthy icons and the forecast that unites the nation to mobile phones. And it's quite hot.
Tells you what it's going to be like out there for the next five days, complete with wind speed forecasts, UV levels, pollen count data and more, along with an hourly forecast for a better prediction of what the sky's likely to be doing for the rest of the day.
As well as looking clean and crisp on Android and iOS, the Android version has a few clever extra features inside it, like support for the awesome DashClock ecosystem that lets you add a mini forecast to the lock screen of phones running Android 4.2 or higher, share your location data via NFC, plus there's a very pretty Home screen widget to use. The BBC does it better on Android for once.
The Best: Beautiful Home screen widget for Android.
The Worst: We used iOS shots up there to illustrate it.
