Facebook Suggests You "Turn off" Home if You've Had Enough and Want a Normal Phone

Facebook's reassuring its users that they're not stuck with using its Facebook Home interface forever, telling social fans it's easy to turn it all off. Which surely goes against the entire point of the thing?

In a Facebook post about the Android Home screen replacement system and the HTC First it arrives inside, Facebook is seen to be encouraging users to bin the enhanced social functionality, telling users: "But if you need some alone time, simply turn off Home and use your phone as usual."

The Facebook custom mobile user interface has been rather poorly received on Google's Play service, while the HTC First, the phone that has the social site's alternative launcher pre-installed, has had its UK launched cancelled. [Facebook via TechCrunch]
