M is for Mainstream and Sony's Latest Xperia

Sony continues its baffling race through the alphabet with the announcement of the Xperia M, which looks like being a pretty decent attempt at bringing all the power you might need and a 4-inch display to the budget phone world.

The Xperia M is powered by a dual core Qualcomm MSM8227 processor clocked at 1GHz, so it won't be winning many rounds of Phone Specifications Top Trumps these days. However, with a 4-inch display, NFC support and a 5-Megapixel main camera plus front-facing chat cam, Sony's latest Android model ought to be a decent enough performer if it can launch it for a low-ish price.
