The First of Fifty Trillion Third-Party iPhone GamePads Pictured

By Gary Cutlack on at

Apple's recent opening up of its code to allow third-party peripheral developers to build stuff for its hardware is about to reap rewards, with the first of what will no doubt soon be a flood of plastic gaming controllers appearing for iOS 7 devices.

This one's made by Logitech and is apparently designed to accommodate the iPhone 5 and its newer, smaller connector. Gaming blog Kotaku is vouching for its authenticity, despite it being a classic and rather useless grainy spy photo. Looks pretty crappy, but still has to be better than using on-screen buttons to play some retro games, right? [Kotaku]
