Anything PS4 Can Do, Xbox One Can Do... the Same

Microsoft's confirmed that its battered Xbox One machine will let gamers play the first chunk of games while they're downloading, which will come in very handy when trying to install the contents of a Blu-ray disc over a flaky and congested 2Mb connection.

The news comes via games site Polygon, which said Microsoft confirmed it'd be offering the same play-while-downloading facility as Sony's stuck into its PlayStation 4. Presumably it uses the same system to play partial downloads as it uses to let gamers play titles while they install from disc to hard drive, one of the nicest things about the forthcoming new generation of machines.
