Install the Cool New Android 4.3 Camera App on Any Unrooted Phone

By Sam Gibbs on at

We might not be able to snag ourselves a Google Edition of the HTC One or Samsung Galaxy S4 in the UK yet, but we can at least get a taste of what they're like through their leaked camera app. Thanks to some enterprising users, you can now download the APK and install it on pretty much any Android 4.0+ phone without having to root.

Apparently the new and improved camera app will be bundled with Android 4.3 once it finally launches, but you can grab it right now, in all its Photosphere-snapping glory. I've just installed it on Android 4.2.2-packing HTC One, and it works a treat, popping up as a new camera and gallery app alongside the originals.

Some users have reported having to remove previous version of the camera and gallery apps, but your millage may vary. Try it, and if doesn't work, just uninstall it. Simples. [XDA via Android Authority via LifeHacker]
