Carphone Warehouse has teamed up with ageless supermodel Kate Moss to launch a range of mobile phone accessories for women, which Kate herself claims to have been "heavily involved" with designing. We suspect her main involvement is more likely to be spending 10 minutes picking stuff she likes off a list from a few Chinese suppliers.
Kate's renowned "style sensibility" will be applied to the new range, which will launch this summer. We shall, at the very least, be downloading the photos from the launch event. Carphone says it's doing this as more than 14 million accessories were sold in the UK last year, with one in four women buying some sort of after-market phone enhancement.
A presumably quite excited man from Carphone Warehouse said: "Consumers see their technology as another way of expressing themselves and a natural extension of their own personal style. Fashion tech blurs the lines between fashion and technology, and Kate Moss is the perfect match for us to drive forward integration and creativity from the two industries."
Meanwhile, Kate Moss is said to have said: "I was heavily involved in the design process and loved seeing my vision come to life in the final product. From the quality of materials to design, I wanted the best for my range that reflected my personal style."
We think, reading between the lines here, this means Carphone Warehouse is about to start selling a pink case for the Galaxy Ace 2 and maybe some flowery stickers. [CPW]
