This might just be the cheapest way to get BBC iPlayer and Demand 5, as well as Sky's Now TV movies and sport streaming services, plus Spotify and Facebook on your goggle box. The new Now TV box, which is basically a clone of the awesome Roku, is just £10. Take that £100 Apple TV and £30 Chromecast.
Of course, most TVs sold these days are smart TVs, which have iPlayer and the others built-in, plus games consoles all have on-demand players too. But if you happen to be one of the very few people without either a smart TV or a console, or other streaming box already, £10 for access to iPlayer, BBC News, Demand 5 and Now TV might not be a bad shout.
Considering Sky is a major investor in Roku, I guess it's not a surprise that this just looks like a Sky-branded Roku clone. Given how good the Roku streaming boxes are, as long this one's not gimped in any way, maybe Sky subsidising it to just a tenner is a good thing? [Sky]
