Lads' Mag Tells Co-Op to Go Shove It Over Censorship and Ban Threats

Lads' mag Nuts will no longer be there to brighten up the shelves of the Co-op for bored male shoppers, after the publisher decided to pull the title off the shelves rather than face any potential ban or order to cover up.

Paul Williams, boss of Nuts publisher IPC Inspire, said of the move to pull out prematurely: "Co-op's knee-jerk attempt to restrict access to a product that consumers have enjoyed for nearly a decade is wrong."

Meanwhile, equally tits-based low-brow rival publication Zoo claims it has toned down its covers to appease lobbyists, but that's still not enough for the Co-op. The supermarket's holding firm, saying: "Our position has not changed, if Nuts, or any of the other publications, Zoo, Loaded and Front, do not put their titles into modesty bags by the date we've given of 9 September, we will no longer sell the magazines."
