As well as the musical element, one of the great joys to be found within a new Grand Theft Auto is always the talk radio stations, which are guaranteed-hilarious satirical spoofs on many real-world radio shows and the nutjobs they willingly tolerate. And in GTA V, some will be voiced by real, just-out-of-prison gangsters.
This revelation comes via long-running series radio host and audio producer Lazlow Jones, who gave a radio interview in which he outlined some of Rockstar's approach to creating the radio stations. Jones said: "In the game, part of the element of the story is that there's these gangs, these rival gangs. And there's black gangs, there's Latino gangs, and we recruited a guy who gets gang members, like actual gang members... I mean, El Salvadorian gang dudes with amazing tattoos, one of which literally had gotten out of prison the day before."
Authentic words from possible killers. Awesome. The inclusion of "El Salvadorian gang dudes" will surely guarantee that the game's usual 10/10 review scores roll in when the review embargoes expire. Here's one for you right now: 10/10. No need for any El Salvadorian interventions here. [Videogamer via Kotaku]
