Freesat's Freetime Boxes go Sub-£100 with Humax HB-1000S

By Gary Cutlack on at

The posh new Freesat Freetime EPG and catch-up system is now available on a budget, thanks to the Humax HB-1000S offering all the fun of a DIY HD satellite TV install for just under £100. There's a catch, though.

To get it down to this impulse price range Humax hasn't put a hard drive into the thing, so if you wan't to use it as a full catch-up PVR and time-distorting solution you have to attach your own external HD. Still, this Freetime-enabled system comes with an Ethernet socket for online catch-up, meaning access to services from iPlayer, 4OD, Demand 5, ITV Player and YouTube right away.

It's out today, available direct from Humax or through Currys and the rest of them. [Humax via Twitter]
