A man walking home from a launch night GTA V shopping event was attacked, stabbed and robbed of his copy of the game, with the thieves even hitting him with a brick for good measure.

A police spokesman explained: "We were called at 1.20am to Princes Avenue, Colindale. A 23-year-old man was shopping, then on his way back home he was hit with a brick and stabbed. He was robbed of items he had bought from a nearby Asda supermarket, including a copy of Grand Theft Auto."

He'd been off to the Colindale branch of Asda, which had opened at midnight specifically to sell copies of the street crime simulator to excited young men. Police say he's currently in hospital in a stable condition. [Telegraph]
