NASA Paying People £3,000 a Month to Lie in Bed Watching TV

The dream. NASA is hiring men like us for an experiment into the effects of gravity on the human body, asking for subjects prepared to spend 70 days lying in bed watching TV. Finally, a chance to put "lying in bed watching TV" on your CV.

The idea is that a permanent horizontal position can successfully mimic some of the effects low gravity situations have on the human brain and body, meaning that, as well as having the best busman's holiday imaginable, a successful test subject would also be helping progress science.

There's more to it as well, as NASA explains: "The bed rest studies encompass multiple areas of focus, including the musculoskeletal and psychological effects of long-term confinement to a reduced gravity environment." [NASA via Metro]
