Once he's done solving age-old maths problems, Homer Simpson had better start watching his back -- a major character in The Simpsons is set to be killed off during the show's next season. And it could be almost anyone.
"We're actually working on a script where a character will pass away," the show's producer Al Jean revealed in a recent conference call. "I'll give a clue that the actor playing the character won an Emmy for playing that character, but I won't say who it is."
You'd think reference to an award-winning cast member would single out just one or two of the show's stars, but with The Simpsons being as long-running and well-loved as it is, practically all the main voice actors on the show have picked up the gong at some point. So, going by Jean's Emmy winners tease, that still leaves Dan Castellaneta's Homer, Julie Kavner's Marge, Nancy Cartwright's Bart and Yeardley Smith's Lisa facing the chop. Aye carumba! [IGN]
