Optical Image Stabilisation: Better on the LG G2 Than a Chicken With a Helmet-Cam

By Sponsored on at

How many Lizzy-the-chickens have had custom headware fitted in the pursuit of capturing awesome action video footage? Probably too many mothercluckers to count. But rather than copy Dave's Galluscam system, shown in this very funny video from LG above, just take a look at the LG G2 cameraphone instead -- with built-in optical image stabilisation, it's surely one to feather your nest with.

While the 5.3-inch phone has a full HD display, 2.26GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM and a 3,000mAh battery, it's the 13MP camera on the rear that we want to talk about today. Residing just under the lens is the phone's only button, that not only controls the volume, but can also open the camera shutter when long-pressed. A natural fit for both lefties and righties.

Whatever you do though, don't underestimate the importance of optical image stabilisation. The G2 is one of the first higher-megapixelled phones to feature it, so if you like your daredevil photography (even if it's just dangling your phone precariously from greasy fingers as you attempt the KFC family feast bucket), it may be worth having a peck at.

Sorry, we'll stop clucking on about it now.
