McDonald's Ditches Heinz Tomato Ketchup in Global Condiment Bombshell

By Gary Cutlack on at

Burger chain McDonald's has had a massive sulk over high-level management changes at Heinz, and has decided to gradually phase out Heinz ketchup from all of its 34,000 branches around the world as a result.

The trouble's kicked up because the new owners of Heinz installed Bernardo Hees as boss earlier this year. Hees was previously in charge of rival meat-reheater Burger King, a move that McDonald's finds offensive enough a decision to completely ditch Heinz ketchup from all of its shops. [Reuters]
