Olympus Stylus 1 Puts XZ-2 Sensor In a Palm-Sized Camera

Dressing up the XZ-2's sensor in an OM-D E-M5 like frame, the new Olympus Style 1 looks set to be an attractive, (almost!) pocketable compact camera with enough manual controls to bridge the gap between amateur and enthusiast interests.

Packing in a 1/1.7-inch 12MP sensor, the 116mm x 87mm x 56.5mm Style 1 uses a 28-300mm f/2.8 zoom lens, and comes complete with a 1.44m-dot viewfinder and adjustable 1,040k-dot  preview touchscreen on the rear. Wi-Fi is built in, while a mode dial, top-mounted thumbwheel and lens ring give manual control over focus and programmable functions. Optical image stabilisation also features, while a full raft of "art filters" will cater from Instagram fans.

Landing at the end of November, it'll set you back £550.
