A Japanese magazine has made the not-particularly-bold claim that Apple will release an iPhone 6 in September of 2014, as you might expect. However, it reckons Apple might be preparing another size bump for its next model, which could see iPhone enter 5-inch "phablet" territory.
Print title Mac Fan suggests Apple's done the deal to secure a 1920 x 1080 resolution 5-inch display for its next iPhone, which would result in a 440ppi output. With the likes of Samsung, HTC and Sony attempting to normalise the act of pulling a 6-inch slab of technology out of your stretched pocket, it's surely only a matter of time before Apple yields to the inevitable and instructs Mr Ive to make his next phone the same but a bit bigger.
It would also make a lot of sense for Apple to put aside its size prejudices and make a whopper regardless of whether it thinks there's a need for a larger iPhone or not. People happily pay stacks of money for the enormous Galaxy Notes, so it may as well shove out a huge iPhone model with a equally massive price tag and see what happens.
Plus everyone would need to buy a new case, which would make the third-party tat manufacturers richer and happy. [BGR]
