UK vinyl sales have got Harder Better Faster Stronger in 2013, doubling year-on-year as music fans' Digital Love wanes as they Give Life Back to Music through the waxy discs One More Time, thanks in part to the success of Daft Punk's Random Access Memories. Sorry.
Records from David Bowie and the Arctic Monkeys have also performed well, with the BPI estimating that some 550,00 vinyl albums have been sold this year. Complementing similar sales trends shared by Amazon, they're expecting that figure to rise to around 700,000 by the end of the year, making it the best 12 months for the classic format since 2001. Digital downloads still play their part here though, with many retailers offering a digital version alongside the vinyl purchase. [Guardian]
