All of These Photos Are Breaking Some Ridiculous US Law

By Casey Chan on at

You've heard of unbelievably dumb country laws before, right? Like how you can't play dominoes on Sunday or that you can only wear slippers indoors or that it's illegal to eat mince pies on Christmas day. There's tonnes more that don't need to exist and they're all ridiculous! Photographer Olivia Locher wanted to poke fun of those stupid laws in her photo series I Fought The Law, which, well, shows photographs of 'illegal' things happening.

Above we have two laws being broken. In Alabama, it's illegal to have an ice cream cone in your back pocket at all times. In Hawaii, coins are not allowed to cover one's ears. Seriously.

You can see her full photo series here and read more about her project at PetaPixel. Locher is planning to photograph different dumb laws from the 50 states so we can expect more hilarity like the ones below.

In California nobody is allowed to ride a bike in a swimming pool.

In Wisconsin it's illegal to serve apple pie in public restaurants without cheese.

Pickles must bounce to officially be considered pickles in Connecticut and it's illegal to wear pants that are 'form fitting' around the waist in Delaware.
