Clowns Reappear in Norfolk and This Time They're Angry

Dressing up as a clown. It was funny for a bit, now it isn't any more but people are still doing it. If you want to see people hanging around in full clown costume like it's September of 2013 again, head off to King's Lynn, as there's been another small outbreak of fancy dress disease.

Police say this new wave of clownery is more aggressive than the previous one, with several clowns out and about in the town and taking pleasure from startling residents. Police suggest ignoring them and hoping they go away, as dressing up like a clown and walking around your local shopping centre isn't illegal so they're powerless to act.

Local police superintendent Carl Edwards said: "Firstly, I'd like to stress that it isn't against the law to dress up as a clown. Nobody has been assaulted and it appears that the people involved are waiting for a passer-by to be startled by their appearance and run away, and then the clown runs after them for a short distance."
