One World Trade Center Lit Up For The First Time Last Night

By Robert Sorokanich on at

One World Trade Center's towering spirewas light-tested last night. Wow is it pretty — and bright.

New York Port Authority says the 300 red, white and blue LEDs illuminating the spire are visible up to 80 km away. While it's yet to be determined if One World Trade is, in fact, the tallest building in the United States (a committee deciding the technicalities of how spires, antennas, and actual walkable floors measure up will announce this next week), numbers be damned, this is a beautiful sight.
