The Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One Google Play editions will both bag an Android 4.4 KitKat update today over in the US, keeping two of this year's most popular Android handsets up to date with Google's latest and greatest OS, without the bloat of each manufacturer's own re-skins.
Until now exclusive to the Google Nexus 5 and US Motorola Moto X handsets, it's good to see Google and manufacturers alike swiftly rolling out the KitKat update. Owners of the handsets should expect a notification on the OTT upgrade imminently. With the Google Play Editions hard to come by in the UK, at least it bodes well for the standard network editions getting timely updates too. [Google]
