Tongue-Controlled Wheelchair Makes Good Use of Ill-Advised Piercings

Imagine the speeds Miley Cyrus could reach with this. It's a tongue-control system for a motorised wheelchair, designed to give people with severe brain and spinal injuries more freedom and manoeuvrability.

The Tongue Drive System uses a "magnetic tongue stud" to relay positional data to a headset, which then directs the wheelchair. The concept uses electrodes attached to a tongue piercing, making it a more discrete system than some of the "sip-and-puff" blowing-based methods currently used by those with extreme levels of paralysis to get around.
