.UK Domains to Land Along With .London in 2014

By Gerald Lynch on at

We've got .co.uk, .gov.uk and .org.uk, .london is on its way and come 2014 you'll be able to register plain old .uk domains too.

While the main aim of internet domain regulators ICANN is to court businesses and bloggers looking for a hip new domain address, anyone who already owns a .co.uk or .org.uk domain will have five years to claim a .uk version of their current web address. As for the roll out, that's still to be decided, but we should have a set date come February of next year. [Engadget]
